EnergyWorks combines project development, technology integration and infrastructure management experience to create innovative renewable energy solutions. EnergyWorks’ technology and brand neutral approach provides flexibility in creating sustainable solutions that achieve a variety of economic, environmental and community benefits.
EnergyWorks is currently developing Energy and Nutrient Recovery Facilities for agricultural operations within the sensitive Chesapeake Watershed area of Central Pennsylvania. These facilities will use dairy and poultry manure as the primary biomass feedstock. In addition to producing renewable electrical power to meet the needs of 1,500 to 2500 homes, each facility will dramatically reduce the amount of greenhouse gases and nutrients that are released to the environment from animal feeding and cropland operations. Recovered nutrients will be transported out of the watershed, sequestered or recycled to reduce nutrients shipped into the region. The first of these projects is expected to begin operations early in 2010.
EnergyWorks assists food processing facilities in the evaluating the use of organic wastes as renewable energy sources to mitigate rising energy costs. These solutions eliminate land application and reduce greenhouse gas associated with transportation.
